St. John the Baptist School, Kenmore, NY. All-Day Author Visit with K-5  Assembly “Where There’s A Will…There’s A Way” and Workshops. K & 1- “What Hatches from an Egg?”, 2 & 3- “Bear Facts” Writing Workshop (becoming lyricists), and 4 & 5 – “Changes” Writing Workshop (becoming illustrators of similes and personification in author’s lyrics).

• Jan. 30, 2019-

Heritage Heights Elementary, Amherst, NY. Author Workshop with 2nd grades using “Changes”- students become illustrators of similes and personification used in author’s lyrics.

• Aug. 15, 2018- 

Eastham Public Library, Cape Cod, MA. “Snuggle and Sing With Songbooks of Science”-focus is on “Bear Facts” ending with an engagement activity titled, Whose Fur Is It?

 • July 19, 2018-

Eastham Public Library, Cape Cod, MA. “Kids Can…Become Lyricists” (while learning about Cape wildlife) beginning with “Bear Facts”

 • Feb. 16, 2018 –

Maple West Elementary, Williamsville, NY. All-Day Author Visit: K & 1 assembly focusing on “Where Did Frog on a Log Come From?” (seed idea, puppetry); 2nd assembly focusing on Winter’s Gift (author’s purpose, acquiring new knowledge, symmetry, playing game of “Crystal Concentration”); 3 & 4 assembly focusing on Endangered (becoming animal advocates, habitats, things kids can do).

• Nov. 28 & 29, 2017 –

Washington West Elementary, Olean, NY. Two All-Day Author Visits: Headstart, BOCES PreK, PreK using Bear Facts (sing-along, follow-up activity “Whose Fur Is It?”); K & 1 using Bear Facts (sing-along, follow-up activity “What Do Bears Eat?’ little book); 2 & 3 using Bear Facts (writing workshop on animal adaptations, habitats, and becoming lyricists).

 • Oct. 22 & 23, 2015 –

Ellicottville Central School, Ellicottville, NY. Two All-Day Author Visits with K-2 and 3-6 Grade Assemblies on “How Were These Songbooks Created?” and Workshops. PreK – 1- “Bear Facts” Interactive Centers, 2 & 3- “Bear Facts” Writing Workshops, and 4 – 6 – “Endangered” Writing Workshops.

Olmsted Center for Sight- Early Education Program, Amherst, NY. “World Book Day”-Interactive Author Visit with sighted and non-sighted children using Bear Facts.

• Nov. 19, 2013 –

Grace Preschool, Vineyard Haven, MA. Author Visit with 4 yr. olds (focus: Bear Facts– Whose Fur Is It? Hands-on activities teaching the children about different types of fur and their purposes.)
